Just read until the end :)

The Legend of Joe There lived once a man in a distant land by the name of Joe. He was not one of many possessions or values, yet the one thing dearest to him in his life was his best friend Doug. One day, Joe was strolling along his usual path in life, through the many courses of his schooling, when Doug suddenly slammed into him from round a corner, dropping a barrage of books with a might THUD upon the frail tiled floor, and scurrying to pick one or two up before flipping his head up like a cock switch to face Joe. “Joe, please I’m begging you, can you spare me a hundred dollars?” His voice drained like a clog was shoved down his throat, and as Joe flipped out a crisp Benjamin with a rush to match his tempo, his mouth beckoned an explanation. “Doug, what do you need this for? You're gonna give it back or-” Joe was cut off by a screech like cars braking on a Friday afternoon, as 10 burly teenage-come-gangsters spiraled from around the corner with fury painted to the...

From Pain to Champagne

From Pain to Champagne A thousand pounds of glutton, Weighing me from on top, A single move is drudgery, My muscles aching to a stop. I see the gleams of stolen opportunity, Through the sills of my dismay, Yet the urge to contain such pleasure, Has something holding me at bay. When suddenly amidst dejection, A thud beholds a calling, A flick of light grits through the darkness, A brick has slowed my falling. One by one, pound my pound, My being is resurrected, I’m lugged and shoved until compliance, My fate unlike projected. Suddenly the moisture heightens, Machines whir and hiss like snakes, Yet the arms of care and yielding love, Are the safari armed with rakes. I’m fended off just to realize, These beasts of my demise, Are configurations for my rebirth, A keyhole to the prize. One SWISH! And BOOM! and I’m lunged forth, My whimpers overpowered, My legs are spun and curved around, My feebleness devoured. Days go on and on and on, As the machine continually assails, Yet my brittle...

Rise of Rebellion

Rebellion Rebellion is the single most effective resolution to a ceaseless conflict. As a teenager, rebellious nature is like a syringe, where day by day, the nozzle is pressed in slightly more, and I’m infused with an insuppressible urge to rebel against every minor conflict in my life. At times, it can be a burden to both me and the members around me, with the flames of discord rising up at a single dissatisfactory vegetable in my supper, or a car ride extending past 15 minutes. Yet to and through, in the grand scheme of problems and manipulation spreading through the world like COVID-19, rebellion is the one method with the highest success rate of getting what you want from the pits of society.  Though, this sense of rebellion in response to prevalent issues is not a new lightbulb moment for humanity. It has been evinced time and time again in the past as a way of curtailing even the most powerful of issues, or in the case of America during its time under British control, ...

Elon Musk and the Wrath of Twitter

Elon Musk is Loosening Content Moderation on Twitter? Oh No.... “Stop allowing people to dilute or poison your day with their words or opinions. Stand strong in the truth of your beauty and journey through your day without attachment to the validation of others.”- Dr. Steve Maraboli. A totalitarian government, and anarchy, a communist nation divided by the strands of politics; these dystopias scattered across the world are all rooted from a common apparatus; government. A democracy, one’s ‘ideal’ government is one that is bound by the roots of dignity and unity not for singular people and their gains, but for a nation as a whole, through amendments and constitutions. The first amendment is amongst this, and contendably the singular most pivotal element of our constitution, yet it receives the most backlash. People have their own freedom of speech, their own ability to speak out against anything and everything their heart perceives valid. Yet the concept of freedom is bordered by a...

A Day in the Life of a Bee

A Day in the Life of a Bee      Multifarious hexagonal holes lined the walls as the recruits saluted their stinger. A swath of carpenter bees hung from the top, their gleeful smiles adorned to their face like it was stuck by a glazed honey wand. Today was selection day, and the crowd had congregated to feast their eyes upon our rueful selection process. In the back corner, we could see the genealogical birth process slowing like an action scene post-explosion, and the male and female components present in fertilized and unfertilized eggs were put on standby as all mother and father bees were sworn in for the ceremony. As the queen bee, who hadn’t moved from her stand dormant for the last 2 years, commenced her arduous journey through the hive, each of us soldiers, including me, posed our stinger in grace.      Suddenly, as the queen knighted the final bee, a rumble like the skirmish of two godly creatures knocked the hive into a branch with a mighty T...

Judge Jackson Claim to Fame was from School?

A School Debate Team Was Her Claim to Fame- Judge Jackson Standpoint Aryan Mukherjee When you debate, you are physically in your role and position, and contending for what you truly want to believe is right . You assimilate the tools of the trade to convince and how not to be convinced, and you see as a result that the most logical conclusion is not derived, but the one that can be backed up with the most vivacity and credibility. With this, in a position such as Supreme Court justice, someone like the esteemed Judge Jackson, who’s knowledge of debate was the quintessential factor in her success as the first African American woman of that role, would be easily able to stand her ground and only yield to the truth and the convincement of actuality to prevail. This particularly applies in a situation like prejudice, where the odds will almost always be against you.  Resilience is key in pursuing a career in law, and to stand up against bigotry and still make it in life to the ex...

If The World Was Ending, What Would You Say?

End of the world? My last thoughts. Aryan Mukherjee       Life as is known through the spectrum of this nanoscopic planet Earth can be whittled down through the pen and paper of a simple fairy tale pertaining to children's literature, except in reverse. What seems unfathomably large through the lens of us mere humans is but a microcosm of what the universe truly holds, and thus, through the nothingness it always once was, we begin at The End. Slowly, gradually, prophetically, the rollercoaster of life, of plot, of elements creaks its way up the rusty iron filings to its peak, as the world grows emphatically into its highest point yet, with humanity thriving ever more. And yet, as this world has left me to assimilate one thing, all ebullience, triumph, glory, and delusory surges of dopamine all at once must cease. So on the railroad track back home through the books of a narrated fairy tale, there is all but one element left in the story of how we, as people, cease t...
