Rise of Rebellion
Rebellion
Rebellion is the single most effective resolution to a ceaseless conflict. As a teenager, rebellious nature is like a syringe, where day by day, the nozzle is pressed in slightly more, and I’m infused with an insuppressible urge to rebel against every minor conflict in my life. At times, it can be a burden to both me and the members around me, with the flames of discord rising up at a single dissatisfactory vegetable in my supper, or a car ride extending past 15 minutes. Yet to and through, in the grand scheme of problems and manipulation spreading through the world like COVID-19, rebellion is the one method with the highest success rate of getting what you want from the pits of society.
Though, this sense of rebellion in response to prevalent issues is not a new lightbulb moment for humanity. It has been evinced time and time again in the past as a way of curtailing even the most powerful of issues, or in the case of America during its time under British control, the most dominant. According to John Adams, a leading political diplomat in the American Revolutionary War for independence, “The Revolution was effected before the War commenced. The Revolution was in the minds and hearts of the people; a change in their religious sentiments of their duties and obligations. This radical change in the principles, opinions, sentiments, and affections of the people, was the real American Revolution.” From this quote, is was clear that the people had rebellion from the anarchy of the British rule oozing throughout their body like a great jelly monster having gaped its claws upon them, yet what had happened for the hundred or so years that the British had ruled over America, it was all these people could do but to peacefully protest and hold some boycotts. Yet the British, like a ceaseless conflict that had persisted and persisted like a tacky mosquito swarming an attack, were not stopping because a few thousand Americans asked them politely. It took a war, a true, external American Revolution that was delivered from the mind, in order to truly end their tyrannous rule of the U.S.A.
However, there have been many instances of peace to resolve such conflicts, right?(the world whimpers) Our whole life, the notion of peace over war has snuggled comfortably within the minds of society, closing their eyes to reality. After all, one of the most notable proclamations was how Gandhi, the most inspirational freedom fighter in the world, used matters of peace to chase the British out of India. Yet, it wasn’t peace that attained freedom once all had been said. According to Drishtiias, “Gandhi was a firm believer in ahimsa and satyagraha while, for Bose Gandhi’s strategy based on non-violence would be inadequate for securing India’s independence. For Bose, violent resistance alone could oust the alien imperialist rule from India.” Essentially, Mahatma Gandhi’s entire motive was for India to be an independent nation from Britain through peace, and without assisting in any forms of conflict at all. However, as he preached through the streets in favor of these means, British officers, Indian policemen, and soldiers cackled at his foolishness and continued to storm the streets and assault any and all Indian citizens. It was Gandhi who permitted Indian soldiers to fight with the British in order to yield his motives, without which Britain wouldn’t have been able to see the light of day in many of its battles in WWII! Today, the world has been stunned by these false rumors that it was Gandhi’s peace means that led to India’s independence. However, and unknown to most people, if it wasn’t for Subhash Chandra Bose, an Indian leader and rebel who fought with an iron fist to see that through any means, rebellious and/or violent, India would seek independence, and it was his executive ruling that finally chased the British out of India with their tails between their legs. With his only motive to garner independence for India, he traveled with his army, Azad Hind Fauj, to Malaysia and Singapore, and met with some of the most scornful forces know by man at that time(Japan and Germany, including Hitler), in order to sway in a force against the British. It was these extreme rebellious actions that instigated an aroma that woke the Indian soldiers into level headedness, and thus caused for the Viceroy of Britain to discern revolt and back off until the battlefield became a bloodbath. So Gandhi wasn’t the holy hero that shooed away the powerhouse of all nations with a few noble requests- it was the rebellious nature of just one individual that turned the tides of a war for independence fought for nearly two centuries.
To conclude, with two of the most renowned intimations for independence all following similar trends, the dots all connect to the same place; rebellion. To truly stand up, thrust one’s hand in the air, and usher a great mass of insurgency and battalions is what can lead to one finally squandering that annoying bug teasing your every move, and what has, time and time again, led to the best solution to any awakening issues. The time is now to learn from history’s trends, before the ballooning discord of all the world’s conflicts slowly expands to bite us from behind, and rebellion, to any extent, would be lost as our only viable solution to it all.
