Diary of a Kinney- Your favorite author
You've read 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid' right? If not, your missing out on the hilarious misadventures of Greg Heffley, your average middle schooler and popularity write-off. In this riveting multi-book series, cocky Greg is paging off his marvelous, hysterical adventures in middle school, and lures the hearts of more than 150 million children worldwide(with 'Rodrick Rules' even being considered the best book in the history of books!). Though, who created such a masterful series? The man behind the magic is none other than the author extraordinaire, Jeff Kinney.
Jeff Kinney was born on February 19, 1971, and spent his childhood in Fort Washington, Maryland. At an early age, he was attached to still-popular books, spurning his desire to study and prescribe them. His favorite authors were Judy Blume, Beverly Clearly, etc., and he landed himself in the University of Maryland, one of the best universities in the state back in the 1990's. He even got a diploma there in literature in 1994. His first minor job was for his school newspaper, the DiamondBack. His first stroke of genius was the creation of Igdoof, the star of a goofy comic strip, a kooky child like Greg Heffley, besides the ugliness factor. This local success lit a spark in Jeff, and he turned to a career as a cartoonist.
In 1995, Jeff Kinney moved to New England to start his career. Though his Igdoof idea was rejected innumerable times, he persevered, and eventually altered the name to Greg Heffley. After his later comics were a huge hit, Jeff Kinney went bigger. His first book, 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid', was worked on for eight years before perfected and finally published in 2007. Jeff Kinney published 7 books in the series between 2007, and 2011, before the books started bringing up the heat in popularity shortly after 'Cabin Fever'. 42 million copies were sold, with New York's Wimpy Kid streak being out of the charts. From there on forth, it was smooth sailing for Jeff Kinney, when 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid', the movie, hit theaters on March 19, 2010. Three hundred and sixty-one days later, 'Rodrick Rules' brought up the rear. Soon enough, 'The Last Straw' came out as a combined movie, and it wasn't for another five years until 'The Long Haul' was produced.
Until this date, Jeff Kinney resumes his artistic run as the author of every kid's favorite book series, but also has another professions. Aside from his fondness of books, Jeff Kinney also adored modern day video games as an adult, such as PAC MAN and ZERG RUSH. His secondhand job is as a game developer, and codes with Python a few enjoyable games on app store, like Poptropica. Finally, he is a movie producer, having covered the financial cost of several 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid' movies. Though he was many things, his pivotal profession, as well known, is being an author. As of 2019, he is still alive and inhabits a residence in Massachusetts.
To wrap things up, Jeff Kinney, our planet's Greg Heffley, was a phenomenal book-writer whose craving for books started out at a young age, and grew old with his distinguished comic strip/book, 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid'. A successful author, a multi-professional man, and influencer of fun and games; Jeff Kinney is truly, and has been conditionally deemed, one's favorite author. Long Live Kinney!
